LO1: Planning a short animation.

My animation is called 'Brothers'.

Form
It will be a slice of life style short film animation.

Animation Type
The animation will be a 2D vector-based animation that has the visual style of a cut-out animation, a type of stop-motion animation. I feel this type of animation will fit with the lightheartedness of the story being told.

Genre
I'm aiming for the genre of the animation to be a drama as it focuses on a boy learning to stand up to a bully with his big brother being the catalyst of his development into being a much more confident person, helping him to stand up to the bully.

Narrative
The animation follows a boy called 'Younger' who is victim to a bully, with them being older than him they think they can bully him. One day when he's walking home they choose to torment Younger like they always do, this is until the boy's older brother 'Older' comes to the rescue. Because he is older than the bully, they feel threatened, and when Younger is inspired by his brother to stand up to them too the bully ran away. I aim to show the character development of 'Younger' from a shy and clumsy kid to a much more confident and brave person. This will be shown by his older brother being a role model to him and inspiring him to be braver and stand up to his fears, which in this case is the bully. There's also the development of the bully, who starts off as over-confident and mean, I will show them develop into a coward when he becomes outnumbered, this is also because Older will help Younger be more confident and stand up to the bully.
